Dear Bates Community,
Despite several reminders, it has come to our attention that we still have members of our school community who use the staff parking lot to pick up students at the end of the school day. This remains a danger to pedestrians and there have been several incidents that nearly resulted in injury. Parents may only use the parking lot for pickup after 4:00pm.
Beginning today, we will again be placing cones outside the school parking lot to block the entrance. I will be monitoring dismissal at the parking lot personally for the remainder of the week. While I understand that finding street parking can be a challenge during dismissal, it is imperative we put systems in place for the safety of our students and members of our school community.
